Join us for a Turkey Trot 5k on the Saturday after Thanksgiving!
The fun committee is excited to set up a 5k for residents to walk or run off their Thanksgiving meal on Saturday, November 28th.

When and where and you mentioned a reward?
- Between 8 AM and 4 PM on Saturday, November 28th.
- The start and finish line will be in front of the pool.
- Please download and print that map below!
- To receive your reward, take a selfie with the finish line sign and send it to LakeSawyerSouthNewsletter@gmail.com with your name(s) and address by 5 PM on 11/28.
Here are some additional details/rules:
- The start and finish signs and the signs showing the path will be up from 8 AM – 4 PM on Saturday, November 28th.
- This is for runners and walkers.
- There is no official start time to encourage social distancing.
- We ask that you run/walk on the sidewalk. We will not be closing any streets.
- Please look both ways before crossing the road. Again, we will not be closing any streets.
- Please bring a copy of the map with you in case any signs fly away!
- There will be no official bibs for this race. Create your own and send us a picture to our newsletter email!
- This will be done at your own pace and risk. We will not have any medical or security staff on site.
- There will not be any water or food given along the path. Make sure you bring your own.
- This will also be on the honor system.
- The fun committee will deliver your reward for finishing to your home. We will let you know via email when.

2021 Home Halloween Decoration Contest!
To ensure you are judged on Sunday, October 24, please send an email to
LakeSawyerSouthNewsletter@gmail.com with your address.
The results will be sent out via eblast on the following Monday so everyone can “visit” these awesome homes!
Please read all the gory details below.
Categories and Prizes:
• Best Overall – $40 Publix Gift Card + yard sign
• Best Single Family Home – $20 Publix Gift Card + yard sign
• Best Townhome – $20 Publix Gift Card + yard sign
• Scariest – $20 Publix Gift Card + yard sign
Rules:
• A home can only win in one category.
• To guarantee being judged in the competition,
you must email LakeSawyerSouthNewsletter@gmail.com
with your address by end of the day, Thursday, October 21st.
• If you do not email, you can still earn a spot as we will be doing preliminary judging
on Friday, October 22, and Saturday, October 23 to narrow down the list to around 20 homes.
>> If more than 20 homes email, we will judge all the homes that send in an email.
>> If you do not send an email,
we can not guarantee your home will be included in the competition.
• Final judging will take place on Sunday, October 24th in the late afternoon/evening.
• Decorations must be visible from the street.
• Judges will view the porch and yard decorations from their vehicles.
• Each judge will have their own scorecard and points will be combined and averaged to select the winners.
A home must be judged by at least 3 separate judges to be considered for a prize.
• Winners will be announced via an eblast and a front-yard sign of their award.
There will also be prizes valued from $20-$40 given to the award winners.
• We will coordinate with the award winners to get the gift cards delivered.
•We reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the rules last minute.

Score values for all homes: 50 points available
1. Halloween Design – 20 points (how much did you enjoy the Halloween design?)
2. Originality – 10 points (how unique is it compared to other homes?)
3. Theme – 10 points (is there a consistent theme with details?)
4. Interaction- 10 points (is there movement, changing lights, or noise?)
Scariest category:
This score is only used for the Scariest Award,
in addition to the 50 points available above.
1. Scary – 20 points (how scary is it?)
For parents of little ones under 3, please be aware that all of our eggs/prizes are marked for 3 and up by the supplier.
Parental supervision is required for the entire event.
If you arrive early, no problem.
Just make sure you wait behind the starting line until we officially start.
Join us for a herb planting event, Saturday, May 21 at 10 AM by the tennis courts. We will have pots, soil, and an herb to plant. We will also have items to decorate your pot.
Adults and children are welcome to participate! Parental supervision is required for the entire event.
Please bring a blanket to sit on during this event on the grass.

for glow sticks and a fun treat.
At about 9:15 we will disperse to our favorite Disney fireworks viewing areas
in our neighborhood to watch Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky display at 9:20 PM.
